Builders, city staff
work on streamlining
the development process in C.R.
Eastern Iowa builders and developers are hopeful
that by working with the city they can remove what they consider
roadblocks to construction and development in Cedar Rapids.
Developers say the time-consuming approval process stalls
development plans and causes so much frustration that some
have avoided building in Cedar Rapids if they can. They say
surrounding communities are smaller, which makes it faster
and easier to get a project approved. “Time is money,” said
